The Career Education Association of Victoria is a not for profit association that has a purpose of the advancement of education for the public benefit, particularly in relation to career development. It is a member of the Council of Professional Teaching Associations of Victoria (CPTAV). CEAV Inc was incorporated in 1975 and has a proud 40 year history of service to schools and the community. In 2014, the CEAV Inc commenced trading as The Australian Centre for Career Education.
CEAV Inc supports clients to access career education, quality career development services school programs and products. The CEAV supports career development as a lifelong process. This is achieved through the development and delivery of ethical and professional career education, careers counselling services, programs and products.
The CEAV provides consulting services to government, industry, not for profit organisations and charities, schools and other educational and training institutions.
We conduct a 2 day short course program for new career practitioners called the Introduction to Career Development Practice in February and June each year or when required. We also hold a two day Conference every second year.
The CEAV committee meets every six weeks at the CEAV Office located at Building A, Level 2, 61 Civic Dve, Greensborough, Victoria, 3088. There are 4 Executive Committee members – President, Vice President,Treasurer and Secretary. There are 4 general committee members, and the CEO
The CEAV membership is supported by full time, part time and casual staff. All CEAV staff members have an extensive range of portfolio skills to support the work of the association.
Dr. McMahon has accepted the CEAV's invitation to be our Honorary Academic to assist us in the development of our training programs. We are very pleased and honoured to have one of Australians most eminent researchers and leaders in the field of career development as a member of the CEAV.

The CEAV currently has representatives on national and local career associations. The President or their nominee represents CEAV on the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA). CEAV is a member of The International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG) and staff members who are members of the National Career Development Association of America (NCDA).
Victoria has 32 regional careers groups (networks). These groups link with the CEAV to support careers practitioners in their work. The groups usually have school-based members plus representatives from TAFEs and universities, other employer organisations andLocal Learning and Employment Networks (LLEN) representatives and meet monthly or quarterly.
